Recap: Barron Collier Cougars vs. Gulf Coast Sharks

The Barron Collier Cougars waltzed into Friday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Gulf Coast by a score of 28-21. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Barron Collier was the better team in the second half.

Niko Boyce continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 314 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Brody Graham also helped out as he racked up 102 receiving yards.

Several Sharks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Seyler, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Cayden Daugherty was in the mix too, providing Gulf Coast with two touchdowns.

Barron Collier's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points per game. As for Gulf Coast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barron Collier is on the road again on Friday and play against Port Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. One thing working in Port Charlotte's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matches. As for Gulf Coast, they will head out on the road to face off against Immokalee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
