Basketball Recap: Sam Stotler Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Berkeley Springs

Southern Fulton lost to Berkeley Springs back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Southern Fulton Indians walked away with a 44-32 victory over the Berkeley Springs Indians. The win was all the more spectacular given Southern Fulton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 484th in Pennsylvania, while Berkeley Springs is ranked 18th in West Virginia).

Southern Fulton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Stotler led the charge by putting up 16 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stotler has scored at least a third of Southern Fulton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trentin Cain, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Southern Fulton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Berkeley Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing James Wood the next time they take the court. Berkeley Springs will head out to face James Wood at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Southern Fulton will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
