Volleyball Recap: Nuiqsut Trapper Comes Up Short

Nuiqsut Trapper was the 3-0 winner over Meade River when they last played one another back in October, but their luck changed this time around. The Trappers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Trappers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Eagles since Friday.

Nuiqsut Trapper took Meade River into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-18, 22-25, 24-26, 15-6.

Nuiqsut Trapper has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Meade River, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7.

Meade River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Kali on the 14th. Hopefully Nuiqsut Trapper paid attention to the Eagles' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
