Preview: Carl Junction Bulldogs vs. McDonald County Mustangs
After two games on the road, Carl Junction is heading back home. The Carl Junction Bulldogs and the McDonald County Mustangs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Carl Junction came up short against Southside and fell 58-48.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brody Pant, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Cooper Vediz, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, McDonald County pushed their score all the way to 66 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glendale. While losing is never fun, McDonald County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Glendale is ranked 170th).
Carl Junction's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for McDonald County, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Carl Junction was able to grind out a solid win over McDonald County in their previous matchup back in January, winning 52-43. Will Carl Junction repeat their success, or does McDonald County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
