Overland had won eight straight games and Michaela Halton did her part to make it nine on Saturday. The Overland Trailblazers came out on top against the Erie Tigers by a score of 49-41 thanks in part to Halton, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals. The match was her third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Ilaisaane Davis, who posted ten points and six steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 18 times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Erie lost, don't look at Juliet Slater. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 11 on her way to 19 points and four steals. That's the most points Slater has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Maclaryn Carver, who put up seven points.

Overland pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Erie, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Overland will square off against Aurora Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Erie, they will host Holy Family at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Family is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.
