Football Game Preview: Trigg County Wildcats vs. Todd County Central Rebels

The Trigg County Wildcats will head out to challenge the Todd County Central Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Trigg County and seven for Todd County Central.

Trigg County is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Mayfield on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wildcats had to suffer through a 58-6 loss at the hands of the Cardinals. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Meanwhile, Todd County Central fell victim to Caldwell County and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a blow against the Tigers, falling 61-0. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Tigers are ranked 102nd).

Todd County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Trigg County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Trigg County strolled past Todd County Central in their previous meeting back in August of 2022 by a score of 42-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
