Preview: Alchesay Falcons vs. Chinle Wildcats
The Alchesay Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Chinle Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Alchesay's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
Alchesay pushed their score all the way to 56 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Monument Valley on the road by a decisive 71-56 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alchesay in their matchups with Monument Valley: they've now lost five in a row.
Alchesay's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chauncey Newhall, who scored 22 points along with three steals, and Brent Aday who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aday has scored all season. Frankie Lee was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, even though Page scored an imposing 67 points on Wednesday, Chinle still came out on top. Chinle skirted past Page 70-67. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Chinle has posted yet this season.
Alchesay has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Chinle, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Alchesay might still be hurting after the 63-42 loss they got from Chinle when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Alchesay, Cashin White (who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
