Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Leadership Academy Fletchers vs. NC GBB Academy Eagles

For the first time this season, Heritage Leadership Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the NC GBB Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Heritage Leadership Academy took their matchup with ease, bagging a 58-21 win over Youngsville Academy Charter.

Heritage Leadership Academy relied on the efforts of Eli Huston, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 18 rebounds, and Jacob Peterson, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Those 18 boards gave Huston a new career-high. Mark Knetsch was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, NC GBB Academy strolled past Commission Leadership Academy with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 69-50. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Griffins: they've now won five in a row.

The win got Heritage Leadership Academy back to even at 1-1. As for NC GBB Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
