Basketball Recap: Creede Comes Up Short

Creede played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Sargent Farmers and fell 75-17. The Miners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-12.

Lila Fairchild was Creede's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Jasmin Laing held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Sargent got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kandace Pargin out in front who went 7 for 17 en route to 25 points along with eight steals and five assists. Those 25 points gave Pargin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Angelise Garcia, who went 9 of 17 on her way to 19 points and eight steals.

Creede is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. As for Sargent, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Creede has already played their next game, a 52-46 victory against Primero on the 11th. As for Sargent, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-17 win against Ignacio on the 14th.
