Baseball Recap: Jellico Blue Devils vs. Wartburg Central Bulldogs
Jellico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-2 to the Wartburg Central Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 last Monday.
Jellico saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Metcalf, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Jellico's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Wartburg Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jellico will square off against McCreary Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. McCreary Central will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Jellico surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wartburg Central, they will challenge Rockwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
