Basketball Recap: Mccool Junction Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

McCool Junction extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Natalie Clark. Everything went the McCool Junction Mustangs' way against the Giltner Hornets on Thursday as the McCool Junction Mustangs made off with a 38-18 win thanks in part to Clark, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Claire Brugger was another key player, putting up four points in addition to seven boards and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Despite the loss, Giltner saw an underclassman step up: freshman Peyton Schutt posted four points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.

McCool Junction's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. As for Giltner, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

McCool Junction has already played their next contest, a 53-38 defeat against Deshler on the 17th. As for Giltner, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Dorchester on the 17th.
