            The Mid Valley Spartans will square off against Pope John Paul II on Thursday. Mid Valley will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Mid Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Boiling Springs, sneaking past  6-4. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by  exactly two  runs.
The team  relied heavily on  Brett Yanoski, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in May of 2024.  Lorenzo Hernandez was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  run and one  double.
 Mid Valley  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boiling Springs struck out six times.
Meanwhile, Pope John Paul II waltzed into their match  on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Tigers 15-3. Pope John Paul II might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six  runs or more this season.
  Luca Dimaio and  Chase Frantz did most of the damage at the plate:  Dimaio  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Frantz  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.  Tyler Tindall also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  triple of the season.
 Mid Valley's record now sits at 20-4. As for Pope John Paul II, their record is now 18-4.
