Volleyball Recap: Culver City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Leuzinger on Tuesday, Culver City came back down to earth. The Centaurs fell 3-1 to the Santa Monica Vikings on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Centaurs in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost nine in a row.

While Culver City had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21.

Ken Hasegawa paced Culver City's offense, picking up 13 kills. Hasegawa got some help from Kenji Toombs and his 29 assists.

Culver City's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Santa Monica, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Culver City nor Santa Monica have any future games scheduled.
