Baseball Recap: Wesley Chapel Falls Short of Mater Academy Charter in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wesley Chapel can now relate to. They fell 6-1 to the Mater Academy Charter Lions on Saturday.

Eli Chana was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Nolan Hartley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Wesley Chapel's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-15. As for Mater Academy Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-9-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Wesley Chapel nor Mater Academy Charter have any future games scheduled.
