Softball Recap: Frankfort's Undefeated Season over After 28 Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Frankfort can now relate to. They fell just short of the Weir Red Riders by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Frankfort saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adison Pritts, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. Another was Tayler Likens, who went 3-for-5 with one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Frankfort fell to 27-1. As for Weir, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season.

Frankfort will take on Hoover at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Weir, they will face off against Winfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Riders 2.9, the Generals 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
