Baseball Recap: Ponderosa Comes Up Short

Ponderosa and Mullen squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Ponderosa had to settle for second. They fell just short of Mullen by a score of 3-2. Ponderosa just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.

Nick Moe was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Ponderosa saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baylor Schultz, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Ponderosa's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Mullen, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-15.

As of now, neither Ponderosa nor Mullen have any future games scheduled.
