Basketball Recap: University Skates Past West Adams with Ease

University's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the West Adams Panthers 72-40. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 25-point advantage.

University found their leader in freshman Skylar Melton, who shot 53% from the field on his way to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Eduardo Hernandez, who went 6-for-14 en route to 15 points and four steals.

University smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

University now has a winning record of 2-1. As for West Adams, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, University won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Torres at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Adams, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on USC-MAE at 2:30 p.m. on December 1.
