Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-10. They received a blow as they fell 51-33 to the Meadow Bridge Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-41 back in December of 2025.

As for Meadow Bridge, their record is now 9-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Meadow Bridge to victory were Laycee Conway and Keira Hanshew. Conway dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Hanshew dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. Those 16 points gave Hanshew a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Hayes, who posted no points along with seven boards and six assists.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will square off against River View at 2:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Meadow Bridge, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against New Life Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
