Baseball Recap: Maret Wins High-Profile Game Against Saint James

Maret is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Saint James. The Frogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Saints, sneaking past 4-3. The Frogs haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Devin Trendl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Maret is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Maret let Aaron Clarke and Isiah Williams run wild. Clarke got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, while Williams went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Elias Cohen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Maret now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Saint James, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

Maret will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Saints: the pair will be back at it again later today.
