Basketball Recap: Esperanza Takes Down Ontario Christian in a Playoff Battle

Esperanza had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 61-48 win over the Ontario Christian Knights on Wednesday. The Aztecs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

Despite the loss, Ontario Christian still got an impressive performance from Cash Marshall, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Marshall is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Cole Jones was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Esperanza has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Ontario Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-14.

Looking ahead, Esperanza will challenge San Dimas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Dimas will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Esperanza surely won't give up without a fight. Ontario Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
