Basketball Recap: Minatare Comes Up Short

Minatare was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Crawford Rams 70-43. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 58-21 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Minatare still got an impressive performance from Hunter Poor Bear, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. The contest was Poor Bear's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dionicio Hernandes, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Minatare's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Crawford, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

Minatare will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Potter-Dix at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Crawford, they will venture away from home to take on Niobrara County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Niobrara County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Crawford surely won't give up without a fight.
