After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ingomar, Shannon was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 17-9 margin over the Mantachie Mustangs. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by eight runs or more this season.
Shannon got a big performance out of Jacob Mullins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Mullins has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zach Davis, who scored two runs while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.
Shannon moved to 5-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Mantachie, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shannon will challenge Saltillo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mantachie, they will square off against Calhoun City at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
