Recap: Franklin Cougars vs. Montwood Rams
The Franklin Cougars lost to the Montwood Rams back in December of 2023, but the Franklin Cougars didn't allow the Montwood Rams the same satisfaction on Friday. Franklin strolled past Montwood with points to spare, taking the game 58-44. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Montwood is ranked 347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Emma Balsiger was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. Caitlynn Clark was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Montwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Eastlake the next time they take the court. Montwood will head out to face Eastlake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Franklin will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
