Basketball Recap: Middle College Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Middle College won the last time they faced Manassas, and Kiya Mell did her part to make sure it happened again. The Middle College Bulldogs blew past the Manassas Tigers, posting a 62-2 win thanks in part to Mell, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Khadija Jackson, who posted six points. What's more, she also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.

Middle College is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Manassas, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middle College will host Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st. As for Manassas, they will square off against Soulsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Manassas' defense has only allowed 26.7 points per game this season, so Soulsville's offense will have their work cut out for them.
