Basketball Game Preview: Wasatch Wasps vs. Cedar Valley Aviators

Wasatch is 0-3 against Cedar Valley since November of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Wasatch Wasps will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cedar Valley Aviators at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-43, which was the final score in Wasatch's tilt against Orem on Tuesday. The game marked the Wasps' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Cedar Valley played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 72-38 defeat at the hands of Timpview. The Aviators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-11.

Wasatch will have to contain Decker Yeager as he made an impact in Cedar Valley's last game. He posted 14 points and five rebounds. Yeager continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Biehl, who put up six points.

Wasatch now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Cedar Valley, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Wasatch came up short against Cedar Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 57-50. Can Wasatch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
