The Rural Vista [Hope/White City] Heat will take on the Herington Railroaders in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Heat fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 win over Centre on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Heat as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Herington on Saturday. They strolled past Centre with points to spare, taking the game 40-25.

Herington's win came from a few key players Rural Vista [Hope/White City] will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Leslyn Kremeier, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Adrian Harrison, who had six points in addition to 14 boards and four steals.

Herington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.
