Volleyball Recap: Miah Sumanth Key Part of Team Effort in Villains Win + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Uwharrie Charter Academy, Bishop McGuinness was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the South Davidson Wildcats 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-16, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop McGuinness to victory, but perhaps none more so than Miah Sumanth, who had 14 digs. With that strong performance, Sumanth is now averaging an impressive 10 digs per game. Charlotte Kopp also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Bishop McGuinness was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. They are 16-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Bishop McGuinness' victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for South Davidson, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-17.

Coincidentally, Bishop McGuinness and South Davidson will both be playing North Stokes the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Villains will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
