Basketball Recap: Delta Piles Up the Points Against Alexandria-Monroe

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Delta on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers out of the water with a 65-30 final score. With the Eagles ahead 39-19 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Delta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Barnes, who went 7-for-10 on her way to 24 points and three steals. The game was Barnes' third in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Bamidele, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 11 points and four steals.

Delta was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alexandria-Monroe only racked up nine.

Alexandria-Monroe lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Grace Wood, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Conleigh Davidson, who scored eight points and six boards.

Delta has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 66.0 points this season. As for Alexandria-Monroe, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
