Soccer Recap: Aspen Comes Up Short

After flying high against Grand Valley last Tuesday, Aspen came back down to earth. The Aspen Skiers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Basalt Longhorns on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Skiers in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost three in a row.

Aspen's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Basalt, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aspen will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Steamboat Springs at 6:00 p.m. on April 2nd. Basalt also won't see the pitch for a while: their next match is against Vail Mountain at 12:00 p.m. on April 5th.
