Basketball Game Preview: James Island Trojans vs. Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes

The James Island Trojans will head out to take on the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

James Island will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Fort Dorchester, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. James Island strolled past Fort Dorchester with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 39-24.

Meanwhile, Ashley Ridge had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.6 points) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Friday. They managed a 52-48 win over the Green Wave.

James Island better keep an eye on Skyla Tuthill. She was instrumental in Ashley Ridge's win, putting up 19 points and three steals. Tuthill's evening made it 18 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Davidson, who posted nine points.

Ashley Ridge pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for James Island, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

James Island came out on top in a nail-biter against Ashley Ridge when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 65-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Island since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
