Softball Recap: Upper St. Clair Panthers vs. Moon Area Tigers        
        
		
            Upper St. Clair had lost three straight at home, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-4 to make it four. They fell  12-8 to the Moon Area Tigers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2023.
 Brooklyn Kemp was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she  struck out 11 batters over  12 innings while giving up  six earned  (and four unearned) runs off   15  hits (and not a single walk). Kemp was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-6 with three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Nora Stutzman was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-6 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Sydney Fisher, who  went 2-for-6 with two  RBI and one  run.
As for Moon Area, they now  have a winning record of 6-5. With that  win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.5  runs per game.
Like Upper St. Clair, Moon Area also got a great game from a two-way player:  Katie DeMarco. She  struck out 11 batters over  11.1 innings while giving up  seven earned runs off   15  hits. Those  11  strikeouts gave  DeMarco a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 5-for-7 with four  runs and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Cami Chambers, who  went 3-for-5 with four  RBI and one  double. Those  three  hits gave  her a new career-high.  Alina McMahon was another key player,  going 1-for-6 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
 Coincidentally, Upper St. Clair and Moon Area will both be playing Chartiers Valley the next time they take the field. The Panthers will head out to face the Colts at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday, while the Tigers will head out to face them  at 3:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
