Baseball Recap: Canyon Comes Up Short

Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Central Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 last Tuesday.

Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for East Central, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Canyon will challenge rival Judson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Central is set to square off against their familiar foe Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
