Soccer Game Preview: Pigeon Forge vs. South-Doyle

The Pigeon Forge Tigers will square off against the South-Doyle Cherokees at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Pigeon Forge got the win against Chuckey-Doak by a conclusive 6-1. Considering Pigeon Forge have won seven matchups by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, South-Doyle came tearing into Monday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Fighting Cocks. The final result isn't all the surprising considering South-Doyle's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Cocke County are ranked 126th).

South-Doyle's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four games. As for Pigeon Forge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2-1.

Pigeon Forge came up short against South-Doyle when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 4-2. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
