Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers vs. Henry-Senachwine Mallards

The Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers will challenge the Henry-Senachwine Mallards at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Pulaski will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Mt. Pulaski strolled past Decatur Eisenhower with points to spare, taking the game 62-47. Given the Hilltoppers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Panthers are ranked 576th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Henry-Senachwine rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Patriots 49-19. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-11.

Mt. Pulaski's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Henry-Senachwine, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-16.
