Basketball Game Preview: Mishawaka Marian Knights vs. Culver Academies Eagles

Mishawaka Marian and Culver Academies are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Mishawaka Marian Knights will head out to face off against the Culver Academies Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mishawaka Marian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Last Thursday, Mishawaka Marian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Elkhart, but they still walked away with a 61-56 victory. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Lions are ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 74 points the game before, Culver Academies was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They took a 32-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tippecanoe Valley. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Culver Academies' loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Mishawaka Marian, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Mishawaka Marian beat Culver Academies 35-24 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Mishawaka Marian repeat their success, or does Culver Academies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
