Basketball Recap: Pinson Valley Indians vs. Center Point Eagles
The Pinson Valley Indians were handed a two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Center Point Eagles on Thursday. Everything went Pinson Valley's way against the Eagles as the Indians made off with a 71-47 win. Given Pinson Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Eagles are ranked 311th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Pinson Valley to victory were Quay Lynch and Austin Coner. Lynch scored 23 points, while Coner shot 5-for-10 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lynch has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Camron Frost, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.
Pinson Valley's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Center Point, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-26.
Pinson Valley will face off against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mortimer Jordan is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Center Point, they will face off against the Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
