Volleyball Recap: Blue Ridge Takes a Loss

After flying high against Travelers Rest last Thursday, Blue Ridge came back down to earth. The Fighting Tigers came up short against the Daniel Lions on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Fighting Tigers haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-19.

Daniel got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Gilstrap out in front who had 16 assists and eight digs. Those 16 assists gave Gilstrap a new career-high.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19-2. As for Daniel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Blue Ridge will take on rival Seneca at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Daniel is set to face off against their familiar foe Greer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
