Baseball Game Preview: Spokane Owls vs. Ava Bears

The Spokane Owls will head out on the road to take on the Ava Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Ava took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Spokane, who comes in off a win.

Spokane came out on top against Verona on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Owls took their match against the Wildcats 14-10. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Owls.

Landon Dollarhide looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Logan Rollings was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Newell, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.

Ava might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 2-1 to Norwood, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ava's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Spokane, their record now sits at 8-17.

Spokane couldn't quite get it done against Ava when the teams last played back in April as they fell 7-3. Can the Owls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
