Soccer Game Preview: Cherokee vs. King's Ridge Christian

The Cherokee Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the King's Ridge Christian Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cherokee has three straight victories, King's Ridge Christian has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Cherokee's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Southeast Whitfield County 1-0. That's two games straight that Cherokee have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for King's Ridge Christian's offense. They came up short against The King's Academy on Tuesday, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, King's Ridge Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 339th, while The King's Academy are ranked 60th).

King's Ridge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Cherokee, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
