Preview: Terrell County Greenwave vs. Stewart County Royal Knights
Terrell County is 8-2 against Stewart County since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Terrell County Greenwave will head out on the road to square off against the Stewart County Royal Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Terrell County put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They breezed by Pataula Charter Academy at home to the tune of 72-21. Given Terrell County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Pataula Charter Academy is ranked 474th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Terrell County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamariana Smith, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Kalysia Lane, who scored 11 points.
Stewart County posted their biggest victory since November 14, 2023 on Friday. Everything went their way against Mitchell County as Stewart County made off with a 60-37 victory. The victory was some much needed relief for Stewart County as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Terrell County pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.33 points. As for Stewart County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Terrell County strolled past Stewart County when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 58-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Terrell County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
