Basketball Recap: Rocky Bayou Christian Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Paxton typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Rocky Bayou Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 37-33 W over the Paxton Bobcats. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 74-11 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocky Bayou Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Strickland, who posted eight points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelle Mallory, who put up ten points.

Rocky Bayou Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paxton only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

Paxton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marley McClelland, who earned seven points and seven rebounds. That's the most boards McClelland has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Destini Chatman, who scored six points.

Rocky Bayou Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Paxton, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-3.

Rocky Bayou Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-42 victory against Laurel Hill on the 30th. As for Paxton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 48-45 win against Central on the 6th.
