Recap: Countryside Christian Minutemen vs. Aucilla Christian Warriors
If the Countryside Christian Minutemen were riding high off their 42-22 takedown of the Bell Bulldogs last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Countryside Christian was the victim of a tough 49-27 defeat at the hands of Aucilla Christian on Thursday. Countryside Christian has struggled against Aucilla Christian recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Aucilla Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Benjamin Faglie, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Bass, who scored 13 points along with six assists.
Countryside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Aucilla Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4-1.
Countryside Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against St. John Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. St. John Lutheran has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Aucilla Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Meadowbrook Academy at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Meadowbrook Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Monday.
