Volleyball Recap: Vallejo Takes a Loss

Vallejo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Richmond Oilers. The Redhawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Oilers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Vallejo sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 26-21, 23-25, 15-12.

Vallejo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Richmond, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 3-14.

Vallejo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Richmond, they will host Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Oilers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
