Basketball Recap: Hopewell Titans vs. Hough Huskies

Hopewell lost against Hough back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hopewell Titans had to suffer through a 78-21 loss at the hands of the Hough Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Huskies are ranked 84th).

Hopewell's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JUNE WALLACE, who posted eight points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of MOLLY HOWE, who scored six points.

Chloe Galombeck was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-14 to rack up 19 points along with five assists and four steals for Hough. Thanks to that strong game, Galombeck now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Kate Breault, who went 5-for-8 en route to 10 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Hopewell's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Hough, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hough beat Hopewell by a score of 70-31 on Monday.
