Volleyball Recap: Englewood Falls to Denver West in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Englewood unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Denver West Cowboys on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cowboys apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

While Englewood ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-18.

When it comes to explaining why Englewood lost, don't look at Lililehua Manfre. Despite the final result, she had 29 digs and four assists.

Englewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against St. Mary's Academy on the 26th. As for Denver West, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against DSST: Green Valley Ranch on the 26th.
