It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but University City had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Birmingham Patriots by a score of 5-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Centurions, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Trevor Lee looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on AJ Curry, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Barth, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

University City's win bumped their record up to 21-12. As for Birmingham, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-13 record this season.

University City will head out on the road to take on Dos Pueblos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Centurions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Birmingham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
