Football Recap: Poyen Takes a Loss

Poyen was the 34-14 winner over Hampton when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the Indians and the Bulldogs didn't end well, with the Indians falling 46-28. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 20-8 in the first quarter.

DJ Clarke was his usual excellent self, rushing for 44 yards and three TDs for Hampton. Clarke has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Aden Williams, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Poyen now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Hampton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Poyen is set to challenge their familiar foe Hazen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hampton will face off against rival Carlisle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
