Softball Game Preview: Altoona Railroaders vs. Shell Lake Lakers

The Altoona Railroaders will head out to square off against the Shell Lake Lakers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Altoona will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Prescott, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Railroaders walked away with a 9-6 win over the Cardinals on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Shell Lake had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ramblers, sneaking past 6-4.

Altoona is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Shell Lake, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
