Preview: Central Bobcats vs. Glendale Cardinals
After two games on the road, Central is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Glendale Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Metro Tech with a sharp 60-38 win. The victory was just what Central needed coming off of a 62-24 defeat in their prior game.
Lia Sims continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 37 points, 13 rebounds, and nine steals. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lushon Norris, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though Glendale has not done well against Cortez recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Glendale secured a 37-33 W over Cortez. The victory was just what Glendale needed coming off of a 57-28 loss in their prior contest.
Central's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Glendale, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Central strolled past Glendale in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 42-26. Does Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glendale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
