Softball Recap: Evangel Christian Comes Up Short

Evangel Christian came into this matchup off a tough eight-run loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Edgewood Academy Wildcats by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Lightning were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Lilli Whitfield was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Willa Bedsole, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Evangel Christian is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8. As for Edgewood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Evangel Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-2 victory against Macon-East Montgomery Academy on the 4th. Edgewood Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
